Ethical Tips

While previous posts talked about changing ways to become more sustainable, there are little modifications one can do to help the environment. This is the final post on this blog as some things must come to an end.   The following ways are quick and easy, while still being ethical. 1.       Tote Bag Something as simple as purchasing a tote bag and reusing it is already helping the planet and avoiding pollution. Plastic pollution is at an all-time high and doing something as little as reusing a bag without buying plastic bags is helpful. There are countless of purposes of using a tote bag. This could be using it as your weekly trip to the supermarket to holding your laptop and other essentials for uni. Moreover, a tote bag is stylish that goes with your outfit no matter what colour worn and adds to the outfit. Tote bags are made from organic cotton, linen and sometimes hemp materials. These materials are safe for the environment as discussed in a previous post on this blog. The bags can

Affordable Sustainable Brands

Trying to be more sustainable can be a challenge. The cost of helping the environment means that materials for clothes will be higher. However, there are affordable brands that are eco-friendly where anyone can shop. This is good news for students where it is hard to be on a budget and manage not spending too much on expenses. The following brands such as Monki, NA-KD and Nu-In offer student discounts on UNiDAYS and Students Beans. This shows you can save money and help the environment at the same time. These sustainable brands are still trendy, so students can feel better about helping the environment.

1. Monki

This brand has made changes to become more sustainable in recent years. The brand released a denim range made from 100% organic cotton, the accessories created are vegan leather and its swimwear collection is created from polyester and polyamide that is recycled. Moreover, the brand has replaced its plastic bags to paper to minimise the plastic pollution.

2. NA-KD

This brand has a specific collection of recycled clothes that can be purchased on the website. The collection is known as ‘Pre-Loved’ and can be purchased as new or second hand, which is cost effective for buyers. Furthermore, the brand created a collection called ‘NA-KD Reborn’ where both factories and suppliers for materials are required to have proof of sustainable certification.

This brand uses organic and recycled materials and plastic free packaging to support the environment. This brand is built on being sustainable and has its main factory based in Portugal to make it more affordable and reduce its carbon footprint.

The brands discussed above are all not fully sustainable but are thriving to be. All that matters is that they are making effective changes to help the environment and thinking of ways to become more conscious. I look forward to purchasing clothes from there and researching more ways to be sustainable!
