Ethical Tips

While previous posts talked about changing ways to become more sustainable, there are little modifications one can do to help the environment. This is the final post on this blog as some things must come to an end.   The following ways are quick and easy, while still being ethical. 1.       Tote Bag Something as simple as purchasing a tote bag and reusing it is already helping the planet and avoiding pollution. Plastic pollution is at an all-time high and doing something as little as reusing a bag without buying plastic bags is helpful. There are countless of purposes of using a tote bag. This could be using it as your weekly trip to the supermarket to holding your laptop and other essentials for uni. Shopping Second-Hand

Buying from sustainable brands is not the only option. Second-hand clothing is a great way to be sustainable and is effective in helping the environment. The perception of buying second-hand clothing has changed in recent years where it was perceived as not clean or not attractive. However, second-hand clothing has become popular, and individuals are purchasing clothes from there. The following methods of purchasing second-hand clothing will be discussed further on!

Depop

Depop is a popular app that is continuously growing where millions use to be more sustainable. The app is essentially used where users can post items as a shop and consumers can purchase from them and communicate on the price. This is cost effective since it is second-hand fashion being bought and it is usually cheaper. It is straightforward to use where a user will just search what specific item they would like to see. For an example, someone searching if there are is a specific top such as from Cider, they will simply just search “Cider Sweater Top” and results will pop up with users promoting it and its price listings, availability and so forth. A demonstration is shown below. Moreover, sellers can set up a shop and sell clothing and alter it to fits its aesthetic to other users.

  Charity Shops

Shopping at charity shops also known as thrifting has become a trend for generation Z in our society. This method of thriving to be sustainable is timeless and has been around for decades. This was basically where people would shop before digital apps such as Depop launched. Another great way of charity shops is that the current clothes you have that no longer want, can be donated and be reused. This is an innovative way of still being sustainable since the clothes are not going to waste. Lastly, charity shops typically have kilo sales where vintage clothes are weighed and bought based on the size.
